Duane Swierczynski - The Blonde (2007)
I've almost finished catching myself up with this author's novels. This one has the feel of an the television show "24" which is not a bad thing in my opinion. For one thing, the "chapters" all start with a time and location, and the majority of the book takes place over a span of approximately 12 hours of time. Also, the plot involves agents, terrorists, and lots of very fast-paced action which should hold your interest for the long haul. The thing I've enjoyed most is with this author, you never know what's coming next!
Leslie Charteris: Meet - the Tiger! (1928)
Prior to reading this book, my only exposure to the character "The Saint" was the from the 1997 Val Kilmer film. Although this book became the basis for over 100 later adventures, the author himself was not particular found of this 1st novel according to his own forward in the edition that I read. I personally only found this story to be mildly entertaining, and by the end of the book found it to be quite tedious. Although this may be the book created a memorable character and launched a series, I'll probably do a little bit more research before I revisit this author.

Inspired by West Coast I.P.A.'s, but brewed with Michigan style. The Crooked Tree is heavily dry hopped to give it a big aroma of pine and citrus. The flavors are big, yet very balanced between fresh hops and malt. Often described as "grapefruit" our hops give this beer an excellent fruit flavor that finishes dry, crisp, and clean. It will pour a nice deep copper color with a bit of haziness. Because of our almost patented "Intense Transfer Methods" our Crooked Tree has won several medals in the India Pale Ale category. | ||

Domernic Stansberry - Chasing the Dragon (2004)
This is the first book in Domenic Stansberry's North Beach Mystery series. My first Stansberry novel was The Confession released by Hard Case Crime the same year as this. I enjoyed that one, and this one did not disappoint either. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

Day Keene - Framed in Guilt (1949)
Day Keene's first novel is a brilliant "Whodunnit" which has me very anxious to read more of his novels. Everything piece of the puzzle fits perfectly here, and this is one of those books where everything just comes together so perfectly at the end. I am going to try to track down his second novel - one of later novels is out on Hard Case Crime as well.
